How to get here

From Germany – by train

Trains from the mainland ride over a rail causeway onto the island to the city of Westerland. From there we’ve either booked you a coach for your group, or you take bus route 2 if you are travelling independently — next bus top to the hostel is called “Rantum Nord” — our hostel lies 300 meters to the east.

From Germany – by car/coach*

The motorail “SyltShuttle”, which departs from the German town of Niebüll, takes you and your car/coach right onto the island. You just drive onto the train and remain seated — 45 minutes later you’ll arrive in Westerland/Sylt.

From Denmark – by car/coach/public transportation

If you found your way to the danish Isle of Rømø you are almost there. Just take the passenger & car ferry from Rømø’s town of Havneby and 45 minutes later you arrive at Sylt’s northernmost harbour. From there we’ve either booked you a coach for your group, or you take the public busif you are travelling independently — next bus top to the hostel is called “Rantum Nord” — our hostel lies 300 meters to the east.

From everywhere – by plane

If you’re staying over in Berlin, Hamburg or Zurich you can catch a direct flight onto our island. If you book in advance you might be lucky and it’s even cheaper than by train. From there we’ve either booked you a coach for your group, or you take bus route 2 if you are travelling independently — next bus top to the hostel is called “Rantum Nord” — our hostel lies 300 meters to the east.
